RONALD T. RENN


EPSOM - Ronald Thomas "Boot" Renn, 81, of Epsom died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017 at a local nursing home.

A lifelong resident of Franklin County, he was the son of the late Channie Alridge and Carmen Tharrington Renn.

Mr. Renn was a retired farmer and owner and operator of Renn Gro Fertilizer. He was a member of Liberty Christian Church, where he was a former deacon and Sunday School superintendent.

He was a member of the John H. Mills Masonic Lodge No. 624 and was a founding member and former chief of the Epsom Volunteer Fire Department.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. at Liberty Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. Caroline Allen. Burial, with Masonic Rites, followed in the church cemetery.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Laney Collins Renn; daughters, Susan R. Owen of Los Gatos, California and Elizabeth R. McKinney (Chris) of Roanoke Rapids; a son, David L. Renn (Jo Lynne) of Epsom; a sister, Betsy Page Edwards (Talmadge) of Louisburg; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Eris Lindsay, and three brothers, Walter J. Renn, Alridge A. Renn, and Harold M. Renn.

Honorary pallbearers were members of Epsom Volunteer Fire Department.
