YOUNGSVILLE --Darrell Rice, 69, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 7, 2017 at his residence. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at Harris Chapel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Bill Haley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He was born in Franklin County, the son of the late Nellie Glenn Rice and Tilman Bryant Rice.

He was a former member of the NC National Guard and a former board member of the Bunn Fire Department.

Surviving: his wife, Debbie Lloyd Rice; sons, Bryant Rice (Aimee) of Zebulon, Alex Rice (Heather) of Knoxville, TN; a sister, Carolyn Pearce (Wilbur); brother, Steve Rice (Gayle). all of Youngsville; and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Harris Chapel Baptist Church, 2960 Tarboro Road, Youngsville, NC 27596 or to the Bunn Fire Department, P.O. Box 74, Bunn, NC 27508.

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship building.
