LOUISBURG--Margie Lee Pleasants Edwards, 83, of Louisburg, passed away on March 11, 2017. She was born on December 23, 1933 to the late Walter and Annie Lee Nelms Pleasants. In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Edwards; sons, Andy, Randy, and Tommy Lewis; brothers, W.P. and Carl Pleasants; and a grandson, Kyle Lewis.

Margie was a faithful Christian, who was a strong independent woman.

Margie is survived by her son, Brent Lewis and his wife Sherry; a daughter-in-law, Robin Lewis; granddaughters, Jessica Lewis, Megan Lewis, and Miranda Ward; grandsons, Jonathan Lewis and Patrick Lewis and his wife Sara; five great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Janet Spencer and Shelby Pleasants.
