CASTALIA - Rachel Lynn Inscoe Freeman, 88, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017 at her home. A visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m. at Castalia Baptist Church, with the Rev. Carlyle Hall Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Drake Cemetery on Red Bud Road, Castalia.

Born in Franklin County, NC on Aug. 29, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Ire Tyler and Sonora Lee Morgan Inscoe. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Drake Freeman, and a brother, John Tyler Inscoe.

Surviving: five children, Sheila Lynn, Bill, John Drake, Kathy and Robin, all of Castalia; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
