DURHAM - Lottie Murphy Geanes died Thursday afternoon, Aug. 24, 2017 at Duke Regional Hospital. Funeral service was held Saturday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home in Louisburg, with the Rev. David Trump officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery in Warrenton.

Surviving: her brother, Joe Hurley Murphy of Durham; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Winston Geanes; sister, Louise Murphy Twitty; brothers, Hubert Guy Murphy and Willie Lewis Murphy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Edgewood Baptist Church, 1807 Infinity Road, Durham, NC 27712.
