FRANKLINTON-- Douglas Earl Wood, 71, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017. A celebration of life service was held Monday, Sept. 4, at Union View Baptist Church, Franklinton. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

He was born on July 23, 1946 to the late Katie West and Henry Clarence Wood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Perry Lee Wood, Henry Wood; and sisters, Emma Johnson, Edith Perry, Mavis W. Franklin and Claudia Pearl Woodard.

Surviving: wife, Katie Louise Tippett Wood; son, Scottie Earl Wood (Carrie); daughter, Lisa Marie Spencer (Daniel); sister, Frances W. Goodwin; and six granddaughters; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
