FRANKLINTON--Brenda Carolyn Cozart-Edwards, 66, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017 at the Hock Family Pavilion in Durham. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, in the Betts & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford, with eulogy by the Rev. Dr. Gaddis Faulcon. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens.

She was born to the parentage of Vaylene Cozart Sr. and the late Marie Burnette Cozart.

She retired from Murdoch Center in Butner, and she worked as a tax accountant until her health declined.

Surviving: children, Bryant Cozart of Elizabethtown, Ken.; Cynthia Cozart and Rachel Cozart, both of Creedmoor; and Bruce Cozart of Durham; father, Vaylene Cozart Sr. of Creedmoor; brother, Vaylene Cozart Jr. of Creedmoor; sisters, Gloria Gomez, Wanda Cozart, and Delores Grayson, all of Durham, and Priscilla Williams of Creedmoor; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
