LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Ernest “Bay” Thomas, 77, who died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, were conducted Friday, June 8, at Perry’s Missionary Baptist Church, with Elder James Alston officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Surviving; his wife, Myrtle Bell Thomas; daughters, Laura McCargo, Susie Ragland-Wood, Lois Strickland, Frieda Thomas and Connie Thomas, all of Louisburg, Myrtle Privette of Franklinton, and Clemontine Thomas of Warrenton; sons, Ernest Thomas Jr. of Louisburg and Ronnie Thomas of Raleigh; and one sister, Bertha Lee Taylor of East Orange, N.J.; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
