LOUISBURG--Lucille Tharrington Harper, 101, of Louisburg left us to be with the Lord on Friday, February 9, 2018. She was born on January 11, 1917 to the late Raymond and Alma Griffin Tharrington. In addition to her parents Lucille was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Harper; brothers, George and Maynard Tharrington; and sisters, Helen Clark, Ruth Anderson, and Janet West.

Lucille was a lifelong and the oldest member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church. She loved being outside and enjoyed working with her flowers. She never had children of her own but was very attentive to her nieces and nephew.

Graveside funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2018 in the Griffin / Gupton Family Cemetery with the Rev. Kaden Williamson officiating.

Lucille is survived by her nieces, Sandra Gupton (Richard) and Phyllis Rigsbee; a nephew, Ricky Tharrington (Vickey); as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family would like to offer sincere appreciation to the staff at Franklin Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation for their love and tender care for Lucille while she was there.
