WENDELL - Blanche Ophelia Lewis, 88, died Friday, March 24, 2006. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 26, at Baptist Tabernacle Church. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon.

She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late James Wesley Long and Ophelia Pearce Long.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lewis.

Surviving: her children, Marie Sanders of Wendell, Lynn Faison (George) of Knightdale, Woodrow Lewis (Barbara) of Middlesex, and Jimmy Lewis (Brenda) of Wendell; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary’s St., Raleigh, NC 27605.

The family will receive friends 7-8:30 tonight (Saturday, March 25) at Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, and other times at the home, 116 Lakewood Dr., Wendell.
