YOUNGSVILLE - Joseph Phillip Gay, 68, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007.

A memorial service was conducted Friday, Aug. 31, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Wake Forest, with William Joyner officiating.

He was born in Tarboro. He retired after 40 plus years in the HVAC business, primarily with ALCO Controls.

Surviving: his wife, Patricia P. Gay; children, Eric P. Gay (Stephanie), Jerry F. Gay, and Michelle G. Nipper (Steve); brothers, William L. Gay (Betty), Edward R. Gay (Betty Rae), and Spencer W. Gay (Jackie); and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Wickham O’Neal.
