LISSIE T. LANGDON


ZEBULON - Lissie Ray Thompson Langdon, 82, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2007. Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church, Zebulon, with the Rev. Earl Roach and the Rev. Norris Cook officiating. Burial was in New Hope Christian Church Cemetery, Louisburg.

She was born in Johnston County to the late Millard Thompson and Pearlie Overby Thompson. She was married to the late Major Herbert Langdon, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Langdon worked for the Sunday School Board as a clerk with the Baptist Book Store.

Surviving: a daughter, Melania L. Walker (Jimmy) of Franklinton; son, Billy Ray Langdon (Barbara) of Pensacola, Fla.; sisters, Beulah Peedin of Bizzell Grove, Claybourn Snipes of Princeton, Connie Godwin of Pine Level; brothers, Harold Thompson of Clayton and Sherrill Thompson of Smithfield; and six grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Mobley, and a brother, M. P. Thompson.
