EVERARD L. PERRY


LONGVIEW, Wash. - Everard L. Perry, of Longview, Washington, went home to be with his precious Lord and savior on October 29, 2007. A memorial service will be held in Longview, Washington, at a later date.

He was born January 4, 1920 to Wiley and Sally Allen Perry in Louisburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Eugenia Perry Holmes; and a brother, Ernest.

Everard left Louisburg to attend Georgia Military Academy in Milledgeville, Ga. Following graduation, he served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II. Upon leaving the service, he settled in California, working with North American Air Craft Corp. In later years, he was in private business.

While in California, he met the love of his life, Shirley Dilts. They married and continued to make their home on the West Coast.

Everard is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley D. Perry; daughter, Lori (Charles) of La Center, Wash.; granddaughter, Holly of Wilsonville, Ore., and grandson, Brandon, serving aboard a submarine with the U.S. Navy. He is also survived by a brother, W. Davis Perry of Guntersville, Ala., formerly of Louisburg; and niece and nephew, Peggy P. Alston (J.D.) and David Perry (Sue), also of Guntersville, Ala.

He is survived locally by a niece, Carolyn H. Hudson (Billy), and several other nieces and nephews.
