SMITHFIELD – John Ed “J.B.” Battle, 66, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2, at the Richardson Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ella Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in the New St. John Church cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Angie Arrington of Raleigh and Johnette Battle of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Rosa Robinson of Franklinton and Marie Battle of Rocky Mount; two brothers, James Russell Battle of Rocky Mount and Clinton Earl Battle of Elm City; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Open visitation will be held at Richardson Funeral Home in Nashville today (Saturday, Dec. 1) from 4-7 p.m.
