ROBERT “BOB” BAILEY


FRANKLINTON - Robert “Bob” Bailey, 84, died Friday morning, May 19, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 22, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest, with the Rev. Marie Murray King and the Rev. Thomas Lone officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton.

Mr. Bailey was born in Syracuse, N.Y., the son of the late Ruth Blant Bailey and Everette Bailey. He was retired from General Electric and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.

Surviving: his wife, Lucretia “Pat” Bailey; sons, Jon Bailey (Paulette) of Youngsville, Michael Bailey of Apex, Donald George Buck of Milwaukee, Wis.; daughters, Kathleen Finley of Danville, Ken., and Lona Roper of Winston-Salem; sister, Helen Bowe of Syracuse, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert Bailey.
