YOUNGSVILLE - Peggy Louvenia “Martha” Merritt Harris, 71, died Sunday morning, Dec. 9, 2007 at Franklin Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Dec. 10, at South Main Street Baptist Chapel, Wake Forest. Burial followed in the Oak Grove Baptist Church cemetery.

Mrs. Harris was born in Mecklenburg County, the daughter of the late Molly Kimbrell Merritt and Charles Brown Merritt. She was raised in the Union-Mecklenburg County area and was a housewife and mother.

Surviving: her husband, S. Wade Harris; daughter, Lorraine Putnam (Steve) of Youngsville; sons, Stacy W. Harris II (Lisa) and Charles Warner Harris (Nikki) of Louisburg, and Dana Joe Harris (Annette) of Youngsville; and nine grandchildren.
