DURHAM - Troy L. Alston, 53, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2007 at the VA Medical Center in Durham. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today (Saturday, Dec. 29) at Feggins-Feggins Funeral Chapel in Wake Forest. A private burial will follow in the Friendship Chapel Baptist Church cemetery in Wake Forest.

He was born in Franklin County to the late Wilbert Perry and Mary Alston. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps, receiving an honorable discharge.

Surviving: daughters, Tonya Merritt of Raleigh and Tammie Merritt of Franklinton; sister, Lucy Massenburg of Wake Forest; and 11 grandchildren.
