HORACE “BILL” WILLIAMS JR.


LA CROSSE, Va. - Horace “Bill” Williams Jr., 84, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 in Community Memorial Health Center. A graveside service was conducted Wednesday, Jan. 2, in La Crosse Cemetery with military and law enforcement honors.

He was the former chief of police for the towns of La Crosse and Victoria, Va., and Franklinton and Henderson, N.C. He was a WW II Army veteran and the widower of Vivian M. Williams.

Surviving: daughters, Ann Jones (Herbert Leigh), “Dee” Wilson (Mac), all of South Hill, Va., and Nancy Thompson of Brodnax, Va.; a brother, Cecil Williams of St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
