ZEBULON - Della Rhodes Horton, 80, died Monday, March 24, 2008 at Rex Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, March 27, at Hephzibah Baptist Church, Wendell, with the Rev. David Edgell officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

She was born in Wake County to the late Elmer Vance Rhodes and Annie Bell Honeycutt Rhodes. She ran a catering business out of her home for many years.

Surviving: husband, Earl “Oliver” Horton Jr.; son, E. O. Horton III (Nela) of Zebulon; daughter, Griselda H. Goodwin (Neal) of Marietta, Ga.; sisters, Mary Lee R. Craft of Wendell, Decima R. Miller of Fort Walton, Fla., Ruth R. Blinson of Yorktown, Va.; brother, Bobby Rhodes of Edgewater, Md.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
