LOS ANGELES - Jesse Lee Burwell Jr., 40, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 in Los Angeles, Calif. Funeral services will be conducted at noon today (Saturday, April 12) at Rowland Chapel Christian Church, Louisburg, with the Rev. Issac Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie instate at the church one hour prior to the service.

He was the son of Elaine Richardson Burwell and Jesse Lee Burwell Sr. At an early age he joined Rowland Chapel Christian Church in Louisburg. He was a graduate of Vance High School and continued his education at Winston-Salem State University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in history. He was a teacher and in 1999 he joined Star Inc. as a site director and administrator.

Surviving: his parents, Elaine and Jesse Lee Burwell Sr. of Henderson; one sister, Sandra Burwell McKinney of Summitt, Mo.; paternal grandmother, Beatrice Mayo Burwell of Henderson.
