RALEIGH - Giles Rayford “Jeff” Jeffreys Sr., 86, of Spring Arbor Assisted Living, formerly of Old Milburnie Road, died Sunday, May 4, 2008. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 6, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service chapel in Knightdale. Burial followed in Raleigh Memorial Park with military honors.

Born in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Charlie Davis Jeffreys and Emma Strickland Jeffreys. He served his counry in the U. S. Army. From 1947 until retirement, he was in sales and was a store owner. His most recent store was Jeffreys Home Furnishings.

Surviving: his wife, Ruth Davis Jeffreys; sons, Giles Rayford Jeffreys Jr. (Jeanne) of Zebulon, Tony Grey Jeffreys (Kim) of Wendell; brother, Thomas B. Jeffreys of Pittsboro; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Franklin, Millard, John and Clarence Jeffreys, and a sister, Josephine J. Horton.

Mr. Jeffreys had requested that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to New Hope Baptist Church Building Fund, 4301 Louisburg Road, Raleigh, NC 27604.
