FRANKLINTON - Michael Jay Gourley, 47, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Pitt Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Durham County, the son of the late Dorothy Hall Gourley and J.C. Gourley.

Surviving: his children, Melinda Gourley and Michael Gourley; sisters, Debbie Gourley of Franklinton, Ruth Daughtry of Lasker, and Sandra Minor of Youngsville; brothers, Doug Gourley of Franklinton, Paul Gourley of Louisburg, Martin Gourley of Franklinton, Chris Gourley of Rolesville and Gary Gourley of North Wilkesboro; and two grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC 27615.
