JULIA B. DICKERSON


LOUISBURG - Julia Emma Ball Dickerson, 77, died Thursday morning, June 8, 2006. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today (Saturday, June 10) in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home, 103 W. Franklin St., Louisburg. Burial will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park.

She was a daughter of the late Joseph Kearney and Julia Mosley Ball Sr., and was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin W. Dickerson Sr., and brothers Joseph “Joe” K. Ball Jr. and Walter H. Ball Sr. She worked in the wind tunnels at Langley Field in World War II and then on the Ball family farm, and also owned a small upholstery shop in her home.

Surviving: sons, Vernon B. Dickerson (Rita), E. W. Dickerson (Roxie J.), all of Louisburg; sister, Novie Dupree; brothers, Clyde Ball, Lindy Ball and Alex Ball, all of Louisburg; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
