ZEBULON - George Alton Batts, 79, formerly of Wilson, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008. Graveside services were conducted Friday, May 30, in the Batts family cemetery, with Dwight Batts officiating.

Surviving: his wife, Mildred W. Batts of Wilson; daughters, Rose Duty of Zebulon, Ann Honeycutt of Wendell, Brenda Porter of Fuquay-Varina, Georgia Cox of McDonnough, Ga., Joan Wallace of Cary; sisters, Peggy Thomas and Susie Webb, both of Wilson, and Linda Webb of Sharpsburg; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
