LOUISBURG - Ruby Leonard Holt, 86, died Monday night, June 16, 2008 at Wellington Nursing Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stephen Johnson and the Rev. Melton Tyson officiating. Burial will be private.

She was the daughter of the late Charlie Dee and Mattie Griffin Leonard. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Shearin, Angus Simpson and John Holt, and her son, Wayne Shearin.

Surviving: daughters, Jackie S. Moss, Anne S. Matthews (Roger), all of Louisburg; stepdaughter, Diane S. Floyd; stepsons, Al Simpson, Ben Simpson and Dewey Holt; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock Spring Baptist Church, Building Fund, 34 Rock Spring Church Road, Louisburg, NC 27549.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
