ZEBULON - Herman Troy Jones, 85, died Friday, July 18, 2008 at WakeMed. Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 21, at Social Plains Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery with military honors.

He was born in Franklin County, son of the late Fannie Alford and Robert Troy Jones. He was a rural letter carrier with 36 years of service and a U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving: his wife, Rebecca W. Jones; daughters, Debbie Cayton (Robert) of Aurora, Fannie Dillard (Tom) of Concord, Patsy Lambert (Johnny) of Middlesex; son, Stanley Jones (Mary Bare) of Chapel Hill; brothers, Milton Jones (Lorraine), Charles Jones (Bobbie), all of Bunn; and six grandchildren.
