ROSA BROOKS-YARBROUGH


FRANLINTON - Rosa Mea Brooks-Yarbrough, 80, died Thursday, June 1, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, June 10, at Greater New Life Church of Christ, Franklinton, with Pastor Dexter Perry officiating. Burial was in the Manasseh Baptist Church cemetery, Franklinton.

She was born to the late Nathaniel R. and Montina Brooks of Franklinton.
She was married to the late Wilbert Clyde Yarbrough and later relocated to Washington, D.C. She worked for D.C. Public Schools and Hallmark Academy Day Care Center in Landover, Md., until her retirement.

Surviving: children, Mildred Gantt, Carlyn Wilson, Jean Stokes, Doris Ballenger, Linda Brown, Wilbert (Milena) Yarbrough, Stanley Yarbrough and Terrence (Denise) Yarbrough; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Joyner, Florence Louise Richburg and Laura Brooks-Manning; 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Milton Clyde Yarbrough; sisters, Mabel Lee Joyner and Medo Olivia McKnight; and a brother, William G. Brooks.
