RALEIGH - Norma Jean Gilbert, 74, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008 at WakeMed. A memorial service was conducted Sunday, Aug. 17, at the Salvation Army Church in Raleigh.

She worked with The Salvation Army Raleigh Corps as the bookkeeper from 1960-1998, when she retired, after which she worked with the Salvation Army in other capacities.

Surviving: sister, Shirley Bell Turner (Mack) of Franklinton; brother, James Bell (Kathryn) of Youngsville; and a number of nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Per her request, flowers are to be omitted and contributions to be made in her memory to The Salvation Army, 215 S. Person Street, Raleigh, NC 27601.
