LOUISBURG - Charles Arthur Bland, 89, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at Louisburg Nursing Center. Memorial services will be conducted today (Saturday, Sept. 20) at 2 p.m. at Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with Dr. Timothy J. Walker, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with military rites.

He was a United States Army veteran.

He is survived by his daughter, Edna Marie Bland of Jacksonville, Fla.; his stepdaughter, Angela Brown (Willie) of Wheatley Heights, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Lancaster Funeral & Cremation Services in Louisburg is handling the arrangements.
