LOUISBURG - Memorial services for Richard “Pete” Burwell, 68, of Philadelphia, Pa., formerly of Louisburg, who died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg. A repast will follow the service.

He was the son of the late Norman and Emma Alston Burwell of the Rocky Ford Community.

Surviving: daughters, Elizabeth Lashley of New Castle, Del.; son, Richard J. Burwell of Raleigh; sisters, Margaret Lucas of Rochester, N.Y., Emily Allen of Philadelphia, Pa., and Bessie Fletcher of Kittrell; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
