CAMERON M. STALLINGS


PILOT – Cameron M. Stallings, 85, died Sunday afternoon, Oct. 26, 2008 at Wake Med. A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 29) at Pilot Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Zebulon with Military and Masonic rites. He was born in Franklin County, son of the late John and Lillie Cowan Stallings. He attended Louisburg College and was a World War II veteran. He was a retired farmer, owner of Alignment Services and Interstate Coatings of Wilson, realtor with Parrish Realty of Knightdale, and founder of Imagination Station in Wilson. He was a lifelong member of Pilot Baptist Church, a deacon and Sunday school teacher and started the Pilot Day Care Center. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Inez Bobbitt Stallings; sister, LaRosa Liner; and brother, John Stallings. Surviving, his wife, Betsy Upchurch Stallings; daughter, Gayle Jenkins (Denny) of Knightdale; sister, Beryl Wood of Louisburg; and two grandsons. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Pilot Baptist Day Care Center, 8103 Hwy 39 S., Zebulon, NC 27597 Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell.
