LOUISBURG – Frances Boggs Strickland, 85, of Louisburg, died Sunday morning at her home.

Mrs. Strickland was a daughter of the late John William and Alice Gertrude Higgs Boggs. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Candler Strickland, and her son, Gary Strickland. She was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Maple Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Jay Tilley and the Rev. Pat Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Strickland is survived by her daughter, Sharon Isley of Charlotte; son and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Judy Strickland of Louisburg, and Judy Strickland of Louisburg; brother, Ralph Boggs of Load, KY; grandchildren, Scott Strickland, Edward Strickland, Lynn Grissom, Meredith Isley, Lauren Jenkins, Paula Horton, Ray Kennedy, Lynette Harris, Todd Johnson, Brad Johnson; 16 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild.

The family received friends 7 – 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg.
