CHRISTOPHER D. KEARNEY


FRANKLINTON - Christopher Dequan Kearney, 30, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008. Funeral services were Thursday, Dec. 11, at First Baptist Church, Franklinton, with the Rev. Andre Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Hawkins Chapel Baptist Church cemetery, Franklinton.

He was born at Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson, the son of Dan P. Kearney and Alice B. Kearney. He was a member of Hawkins Chapel Baptist Church in Franklinton and was a 1997 graduate of Franklinton High School, where he was very active in sports. He completed Tractor-Trailer training at Professional Driving School in Paducah, Ky., and started his career driving for several trucking companies, the latest being Larry Newby Trucking Co. in Henderson.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one daughter, Mikala, and his fiance, Michelle Moore, both of the home; brother, Stephen “Tony” Kearney (Paulene) of Franklinton; sister, Alicia “Lisa” Green (Tony) of Columbia, S.C.; grandmother, Dorothy Burwell of Franklinton; two nieces and two nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives.
