ZEBULON - John Henry Partin “Big John,” 60, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008 at his home in Raleigh. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. today (Saturday, Dec. 13) at Poplar Springs Christian Church, 6115 Old Stage Road, Raleigh, and the funeral will follow at 1 p.m.

He was born in Wake County to the late Elvis Partin and the late Rosa McDougal Partin. He was a native of Garner and a retired Corrections sergeant at Central Prison.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Partin Sapp.

Surviving: son, Richard S. Denning I (Lorene) of Raleigh; daughters, Rhonda P. Dunn (Michael Sr.) of Zebulon and Jessica Roseanne Partin of North Brunswick, N.J.; brothers, Leroy Partin, Carlie Partin, Cleon Partin (Lonette), Lonnie Partin (Rose), all of Raleigh, and Charlie Partin (Sylvia) of Garner; sisters, Maeviola Banks (Alvin Sr.), Liza Mae Gladney, all of Raleigh, and Rosa Lee Burt (Levi) of Garner; and seven grandchildren.
