NEWARK, N.J. - Funeral services for Herman “Bird” Davis, 56, who died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, at Shady Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. John A. Hopkins Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving: sons, Dewitt Davis and Kent Davis, both of New York City; mother and stepfather, Gracie and Thomas Moore of Louisburg; sister, Patricia Clarke of Bronx, N. Y.; brothers, Clarence Davis of Bronx, N.Y., and Lawrence Davis of New York City.

Wake services will be from 7-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg.
