ZEBULON - Howard Darnell Tant, 85, died Thursday, March 19, 2009. Funeral services were Sunday, March 22, at Pine Ridge Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.

He was a retired government tobacco grader and a retired farmer.

Surviving: son, Doug Pearce (Donna); sisters, Lou Pace (Horace), Frances Smith, Carolyn Register (H. J.), Dot Bissett (John); brothers, Earl Tant (Frances), Ronnie Tant (Faye); five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
