FAYETTEVILLE - Retired Army 1st Sgt. Douglas A. White Sr. died Sunday, March 26, 2006, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. A graveside service with military honors will be held in Franklinton at a later date.

Mr. White served two tours of duty in the Vietnam War and was also retired from C.C. Dickson after 22 years.

Surviving: his wife, Annelies White; sons, Douglas White Jr. (Carol), David White and Danney White (Sheila), all of Fayetteville; a brother, Bob White (Nancy) of Franklinton; and three grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
