DOROTHY H. RAWLEY


RALEIGH - Dorothy “Dot” Moore Hamrick Rawley, 80, died Monday, May 25, 2009 at home. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, May 28, at Christ Covenant Church in Raleigh, with the Rev. Tom Mercer officiating. Burial was at Arlington National Cemetery.

She was born in Rutherford County to Winnie B. Hamrick and Ivy Moore Hamrick. She received a Bachelor of Music degree from Meredith College. She composed Christian songs and authored the book “In The Beginning—God.”

Surviving: husband, William Franklin Rawley Sr.; children, Frank Rawley (Cheryl) of Providence Forge, Va., Ron Hendricksen (Dottie) of Lynchburg, Va., and Beegee Brown (Kathy) of Youngsville; sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. James E. Hart of Waycross, Ga.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
