RALEIGH - Shirley P. Holliday, 72, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 at Duke Raleigh Hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 1, in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Raleigh.

She was born to the late Bud and Mattie Barnette. She grew up in Franklin County, moving to Raleigh in 1954. She worked her entire career as a licensed insurance agent, retiring in 2008.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Elsie Radford of Raleigh.

Surviving: son, Rick Pulley; brother, Ronald W. Barnette Sr. (Rea Donahue) of Raleigh; one nephew and several cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Duke Hospice.
