BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Ida Dean Nichols Cooper, 57, affectionately known as “Ma Cooper”, died Monday, December 20, 2009.

Funeral services were Sunday, Dec. 27 at 3 p.m. at Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Louisburg. Burial followed in the Spivey Family Cemetery with pastor Timothy Walker officiating.

Surviving: mother, Martha Nichols of Louisburg; daughters, Tumika “Tika” Alston of Staten Island, N.Y., Nikki Cooper and Dana Cooper, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.;  sons, Tracey “Tre” Cooper of Staten Island, N.Y., Damian “Son” Cooper and Christopher “Smally” Cooper, both of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Jamaine John “Babes” Nichols of Louisburg; sister, Darleen Garner of Brooklyn, N.Y.; brother, David Nichols of Newark, N.J; four grandchildren.
