LOUISBURG - Joseph Edward Lunsford, 68, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010 at his home. A funeral service was held Thursday, Feb. 4, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home Chapel, Millbrook Road, Raleigh. Interment followed at Centerville Baptist Church cemetery.

He was born in Newport News, Va. to Joseph Mac and Elsie Frances Romeika Lunsford.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Edna Wilson.

Surviving: his wife, Joyce Radford; son, Scotty Lunsford; wife, Lorraine of Cary; daughters, Elaine Frances Vitek  (Greg) of Raleigh, Janet L. Lewis (Matt) of Rolesville, Michelle Anderson of Clayton, and Florence Edith “Christy” Lunsford of Louisburg; stepdaughter, Kim Wester Lee (Mike) of Raleigh; and 11 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family c/o Brown-Wynne Funeral Home.
