MACON - James William “Bill” Walker, 59, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

The Rev. Tom Calverly conducted funeral services Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Gardner’s Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery.

Mr. Walker was a U.S. Army veteran. He was formerly employed by Lowe’s Home Improvement, the Yale Company in Greenville and most recently at Lake Gaston Supply Company.

Surviving: his wife, Patricia Paynter Walker; one son, William Christopher Walker of Louisburg; one daughter, Erin Walker Barrier of Jonas Ridge; and one sister, Sandra Walker Stoner of Macon.
