ZEBULON - Aubrey Leonard Gay, 71, died Monday, May 3, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, May 5) at Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He was born to the late Irey Leonard Gay and Ruth King Gay. He attended Louisburg College and later graduated from North Carolina State University. He taught at Aycock School in Vance County, worked with the W.R. Grace Chemical Company and retired from Franklinton High School in Franklinton. 

Surviving: wife, Marie Nicholson Gay; one aunt; two nephews and numerous cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church, 4525 Hopkins Chapel Road, Zebulon, NC 27597.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
