RODGER H. “SKIP” BARROW


ZEBULON - Rodger Howard “Skip” Barrow, 62, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010. A service was held Friday, July 16, at Zebulon United Methodist Church. Burial will be today (Saturday, July 17) in Raleigh Memorial Park.

He was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. He had a 26-year career at Square D Company in Knightdale. He later opened his own woodworking businesses, Barrow’s Woodwright Shop and East Wake Hardwoods, both located in Zebulon.

Surviving: his wife, Deborah Denton Barrow; daughter, Tammy Barrow Penley of Conover; son, Marcus Warren Barrow (Jeannie) of Henderson; sister, Susan B. Nadel (Doug) of Apex; brother, Wayne Barrow (Linda) of New Hampshire; and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Howard Barrow and Elsie G. Barrow of Raleigh.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Woodworkers of North Carolina (WONC) Gallery-WONC, P. O. Box 25296, Raleigh, NC 27611; or Wake County Hospice, or Zebulon United Methodist Church.
