FRANKLINTON - Nell Holmes Cyrus, 93, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010 after an extended illness. Graveside services were held Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Fairview Cemetery, Franklinton.

She was born to the late Herbert and Irene Holmes. She was a member of Franklinton Baptist Church and WMU and was employed by Burlington Industries for 38 years.

Surviving: sister, Dorothy Holmes Newton of Creedmoor; four nieces and eight nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Cyrus; sisters, Luvene Holmes Spence and Ann Holmes Collins; brothers, Graham and Henry Holmes.
