EDITH HALE MOORE

EDITH HALE MOORE
CASTALIA - Edith Hale Moore, 83, passed away, Thursday, October 21, 2010. She was born July 30, 1927 in Franklin County. Edith was the daughter of the late, Lawrence Aaron and Annie Let Faulkner Hale. Edith was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked on the farm for many years and devoted the rest of her time being a housewife and raised her children and grandchildren. She always prepared a big meal on Sunday so the whole family could come eat. She did that her whole life and only stopped doing it a couple of months ago when her health got too bad. She was a strong, independent lady who was the backbone that held the family together. We know that she is in heaven now with her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Emmitt Moore, Sr., and a son Quince Parrish Hale; four brothers, Verna Lee, Joseph Aaron, Wilson Franklin and Ben Hale; one sister, Rose Ann Hight. She will be greatly missed by any and all that knew her. No matter who she was around she would keep them laughing. Not one of us could have asked for a better Mom, grandmother or friend.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Carl Emmitt Moore, Jr. of Nashville and Tony Randall Moore of the home; one daughter, Debbie Moore Rodriguez and husband Carlos of Castalia; daughter-in-law, Lynn Hale of Castalia; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Scott Hale and wife JoAnna, Carl Emmitt Moore III and wife Amber, Quince Brandon Hale; three great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Blaine Hale, Jillian Blair Hale and Mason Emmitt Moore.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 7:00-8:30 PM at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Sunday, October 24, 2010 in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with the Rev. Herbie Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery of Nashville.

The family would also like to thank United Hospice of Rocky Mount, especially Melissa, Kim and Yvette. You were so good to her and us and we sincerely thank you. We also want to thank Tarheel Home Health of Youngsville, NC for their RN, Tara and for Cindy Forsyeth. You two, along with Hospice, were a Godsend. Thank you for caring for our mom.
