LOUISBURG – James William Gupton, 70, died Saturday morning, March 10, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, at Duke Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jake Dorak officiating.

He was a son of the late Samuel Edgar and Myrtle Glendora Davis Gupton. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Nobia Bottoms and Frances Champion, and a brother, Samuel E. “Red” Gupton, Jr.

Surviving: his daughter, Gina G. Vick of Louisburg; sons, Carson Gupton of Butner; Charles Gupton of Eighty Four, Pa.; sister, Marie G. Denton of Centerville; brother, Bobby (Alma) Gupton of Louisburg; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
