LOUISBURG – Birdie W. Walker, 86, of 404 E. Noble St., died Friday morning. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Dodge Co., Georgia.

He was a son of the late James and Sallie Dowdy Walker. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gail W. Thompson. He was an Army veteran of WW II.

Surviving: wife, Patricia F. Walker; son, Jake Walker of the home; stepdaughters, Lillian Johnson of Cary and Mary Edwards of Louisburg; stepsons, Len Edwards of Wilton and James Edwards of Louisburg; brother, Wilkins Walker of Albany, Ga.; sister, Gladys Delouch of Mexico Beach, Fla.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home at all times.
