YOUNGSVILLE - Phyllis Skinner Thorne, 68, died  Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Bailey Cemetery in Bailey.

She was born in Wilson County, daughter of the late Esther Brewer Skinner and William Atlas Skinner.

Surviving: husband, Ken Thorne; daughter, Lisa Mills of Raleigh; son, Kenneth M. Thorne (Robin) of Roxboro; brother, William Atlas Skinner (Carolyn) of Sharpsburg; three  grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
