ZEBULON - Hazel Tant Boykin, 74, died Friday, July 26, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at Hales Chapel Baptist Church, 13396 NC Hwy. 39, Zebulon. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 809 Gannon Ave., Zebulon.

She was born in Wake County to the late Thomas Earl Tant and Lula Gray Pace Tant. She worked for Westinghouse, later known as ABB, retiring with 30-plus years of service.

Surviving: daughters, Debra B. Pearce and Teresa B. Creech (Joe), all of Zebulon; sister, Norma Chamblee (James) of Florida; brother, Jimmy Tant (Kathy) of Archer Lodge; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy “Pa” Tant.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, and other times at her home.

Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Hazel Tant Boykin Memorial Fund, c/o Hales Chapel Baptist Church.
